25.1.05

we haven't written anything in a super long time. nothing too exciting has happened with us, but here's the short update:

x-mas in bakersfield with f's relatives - a very short trip, way too many presents for one group of people.

new years in mn - went to benihana with my mom, terry, david, and michael. came home and had a long disco with terry and mom about dad, death, etc. mainly depressing and we didn't get to bed until almost 3. we had a 25$ bottle of champagne, it wasn't very good....i think i just don't like champagne.

after new years - hung around mn, ran errands for mom, dad had surgery to remove his voice box and vocal cords, spent 5 days sitting with him in the hospital, the surgeon thinks he got all the cancer, now hopefully it won't come back.

eventually came home, macy and sophie were pissed because we were gone so long. had less than one weeks recuperation and then off to vegas for a weekend for grandpa's 88th birthday. as you can see by f's post the other day, it was most exciting, but not in a good way.

all i want now is to be at home for awhile without any major trips, or exciting things to do. i am starting to study for the gre and hebrew starts again next week. i'm excited about hebrew again (even though i haven't really practiced since class ended in dec) and i am nervous about the gre. i want to do well, but i don't know if i'll have the drive to really study. i must study. i must do well. i must get into grad school, a good one preferably and then i'd like to get into one in the bay area so we don't have to move again. So, i guess that limits me to three - and they are all the best. *sigh* ok, we'll see!

that's it. hope everybody's new year is going well, at least better and less exciting than ours.
