I always wish that i had something new and witty to say when i make a post, but i never seem to. blah.
life is busy like usual, f has a week off now. she is happy about it, but she also wants to get a lot of work done so that she'll be on top of things when she goes back. i'm just hoping that she has enough relaxation time to make her refreshed for the rest of the semester. F really likes school, it's just hard for her because she doesn't get any feedback until her final grade at the end of the semester. she's making a lot of great friends. some we have found will be great study buddies and others who are more for social activities. but, it's nice to finally not feel like we don't know anybody in berkeley.
it's still hard for both of us to deal with cal. it's so big. it's so anonymous and makes us feel so isolated. we aren't used to walking around a college campus and never being able to find somebody to say hello to, you don't even see familiar faces! it's really weird. but, on the other hand there are always things going on at a big school. we always find lectures, films, etc. that we want to go to. The biggest problem for us is acutally going! actually going takes so much commitment, first you have to look up the location on the map, then you have to leave early enough to get there (if walking from home, at least 30 mins) then you actually have to find the location (which is never as easy as just finding a building) and finally trying to find a seat is often a challenge! but, heh, whatever.
work=good. still liking the job. although, i am slightly frustrated with cloning right now. my stupid ligation doesn't seem to work! argh. i know it's not my pcr so that only leaves my parent vector, but it seems fine too! grrr. so, i've decided that looking at cells are more fun. well, my transfections didn't work so there isn't anything super pretty to look at, but it's still fun!
we have tons of social engagements coming up, i don't know where the all came from! it's crazy, we go from sitting around our house to never being home! many parties coming up in the next few weeks! at least all of the sf ones are on the same night....now, parking could be a problem!
ok, i'm off....we are going to sj today to see a&k and the Renaissance festival. we've never been to one before, shall be interesting. but before that i need to stop at the post office and figure out where my taxes are, run to the library and get a few books that nm recommended (just when i can't find a book in my collection i haven't read , perfect timing!) oh, but how about breakfast first! yummy...i'm hungry!
