it's been awhile since i made an update so i thought i would. i'm not sure how long this will be but maybe it will fill some of you in a little.
f finished her first year of law school (yay!) and we went to san diego with my mom and grandma to relax for the weekend on the beach to celebrate. we had a great time. we got to relax a lot. i spent saturday morning and part of the afternoon lying by the pool napping in the sun with a cool breeze blowing over me. it was very nice. we had a bloody mary for my dad and we went to the san diego wild animal park. we got to feel the giraffes and rhino's. we didn't get to see the baby elephant, i think he was sleeping by the time we got to him. :( But, i did get a stuffed rhino. f named it horny. i think that name fits.
last week f started her summer jobs. she has a very fancy-shmancy id from the court house. it's cool. i need to scan it and copy it before she has to give it back at the end of the summer. she is a little nervous because she doesn't feel qualified for the job, but i keep telling her that she isn't supposed to know anything yet and that they will teach her! friday she went to her other job with the small firm. she likes it there a lot. she feels more like she understands what is going on and what is expected from her. i think it's good that she had both though because she needs to have different experiences to figure out where she wants to be in the end.
we saw potter friday afternoon. it was good, but i wasn't too thrilled. it was probably the best of all the movies, but it didn't have the special effects that the others did so i didn't leave the theater all excited and energized. i think they did a really good job cutting out so that they could make it more cohesive, but i wouldn't mind them keeping it all in and having it be like 12 hours long.
we are in santa cruz now for the weekend. we came yesterday to get haircuts and since it is pride this weekend we decided to stay the night to check out what was going on. earlier we went to the thing (i think they call it a rally) downtown in san lorenzo park and saw eri and nat for a few minutes. we quickly lost track of them and then they had to get going back up to the city. hopefully, we will see them again soon. i got a sticker for my car. i was looking for one that wasn't permanent and sticky. you know, the kind that just clings to the inside of the window instead of the outside. i couldn't find one and i decided to just make my car permanently queer. i think i will wait until after sf pride to put it on though, because i'll probably be able to find one there.
macer is enjoying his time with grandma. yesterday afternoon, he and i went out on the deck to do some exploring and relaxing while mommy and grandma were shopping a little. he seemed to like it a lot. last night he was a little stinker and didn't want to sleep at all and kept me up half the night because he kept getting into trouble.
anyway, we need to head back home sooner than later because i need to go to work for a little bit to start some stuff for tomorrow and we should also go grocery shopping for some lunches and dinners this week! f has decided that we should go on the south beach diet (permanently). it's hard. low carb, not much meat, what am i supposed to eat? i did ok last week, but i don't think i can make it another without any fruit. it's summer and that's what we are supposed to live off of! how can i not eat myself sick with cherries and strawberries? i can do fine in the winter without fruit, i don't really like citrus much, but summer is not a good time for this.
ok, i'm going to try and rest a little before we pack up the bunny and go home!
