we made it to mn. the drive was super uneventful and super long, that's why we had to listen to books on tape. we got this one called middlesex which was EXCELLENT and parallels a lot of f's research, but it’s a novel. you should run out, get it, and read it now! (note: it is for mature audiences…says the back cover of the tape box)

it snowed in Wyoming and Nebraska. why is there snow now? it was supposed to be a nice fall drive. we were supposed to be able to see the fall colors and it was supposed to smell good and it was supposed to be only cool. Instead, after salt lake city it started to snow and snow and snow all the way through the two longest states! argh. it was cold, my windshield washer fluid froze because they don't sell windshield washer fluid for cold weather in ca.

at least there isn’t snow here yet! Maybe it will stay this way for a week while we gorge ourselves on our last bit of American food, relax (which we haven’t done in a long time), and hang out with the Midwesterners? Ya, sure, you betcha.
